KLIPS already works on some 4.x kernels. I think up to at least 4.4.x

We don't really know the maximum version, because they can release new
kernels that work fine. Our changelog does clearly state which version
we added support for, so finding the newest entry will tell you the last
kernel we know for sure works.

libreswan-3.18 (hopefully released in a week or so) will come with support
for an ipsec0 interface based on the VTI code. We'll announce the feature
for testing and have a wiki page up to explain how it works.
