For what it's worth, I've got the linux side of the KVM testsuite to run using linux mint 20.3 as the host. See https://libreswan.org/wiki/Test_Suite_-_KVM The motivator is https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2075736 - linux mint (debian) has the old libvirt so isn't yet suffering from these bugs.
