Hi Andrew and Paul,
Commenting out the OpenBSD tests didn’t work. So, I went with `gmake kvm-demolish kvm-install` which resolved the issue.

I did do some tweaks during the day because of openbsd. Not sure if that
broke you, but I just confirmed I can run make kvm-demolish followed by
make kvm-install without the problems you are seeing.

Guess this does not tell us where the timeout happened.
Due to the openbsd additions, you might need to install nfs-utils on the
host and enable the nfs-server service on the host (because openbsd does
not support a compatible 9p filesystem)
FYI, the interface "swandefault" needs a fiewall hole for NFS (and it seems that the openbsd domain likes to chat to ntp via that same interface). I filed bugs. Later.
Anyway, the large hammer approach is:
gmake kvm-demolish kvm-install
