    oppo: pass the subnet into group_instantiate() nee add_group_instance()
    
    - the group file contains a subnet, not selector
    - rename so function reflects what it is doing
      (even though it doesn't call instantiate())
    
    Add note pointing out that a group with protoport= is probably broken.
