    connections: pass a logger into initiate_connections_by_name()
    
    As an aside, the call passing in c->name in:
      connection_check_ddns1()
      initiate_redirect()
    are puzzling.  Are they:
      - switching from connection instance to template?
      - picking up all aliases?
