    connection: in terminate_a_connection() attach whack to the connection being deleted
    
    Hack around delete_states_by_connection() pulling the connection
    from underneath the feet of its caller.  This is on top of the
    CK_GOING_AWAY "trick" being used by delete_states_by_connection()
    to avoid a similar problem.
