    connections: reverse default_end()'s polarity - propogate this.host_addr into that.host_nexthop
    
    This way code only changing that.host_addr, doesn't need to also call
    with this.
    
    Rename to update_ends_from_this_host_addr(); Drop leftright param and
    use .leftright.
