    logging: replace passert(globals_are_reset()) with pexpect_reset_globals()
    
    If, at the end of (or start of) processing some sort of event, the
    logging global aren't reset, just fix them (but do complain loudly and
    in great detail).
    
    Dumping core seems like overkill.
